Animal Rescue

Animal rescue organizations are absolutely vital today.

Why are they so important?

They rescue local animals in need and then re-home them to foster care. They get them veterinary help, such as getting their shots up-to-date, medical treatments needed, and getting the necessary nutrients in their diet.

Animal rescue organizations do not get paid; it is all out of the kindness of their own hearts. They rely on donations and fundraisers to help cover the costs and get them the necessary help they need (as well as a loving, “furever friend” home!).

They are also critical in a crisis situation (such as rescuing an animal in a flood or a runaway or stray). These are all reasons why they need our help to keep them running to help our animals who need us the most.

"How can I help?"

You can foster and/or adopt or donate to these organizations. You can even create your own animal rescue fundraiser. Also, help spread the word! It doesn’t cost a cent.

Without these amazing and dedicated organizations, we would have an overrun of animals in our towns. For example, check out the wonderful Pause 4 All Paws Rescue Organization of Herkimer County, NY.  They hold fundraisers and are big in the community. We fostered and adopted several animals from them in the last several years as well as rescued others who needed homes.

Our current rescues. Cole, the border collie dog, was rescued by a friend and we fostered/adopted. The rest were fostered/adopted from P4AP.

Simba (someone dropped him off at the river; we rescued him) and Chewy (we fostered him and his owners surrendered him to us since he was old and acclimated). Both passed away a while ago from cancer.

Animal rescue organizations need not just our help but the recognition they deserve. We can all contribute to giving our animals a safe, healthy, and loving environment. Let’s make a difference, starting now!
